She was born April 3, 1941 in San Antonio, where she lived until she entered the University of Texas in Austin, from which she graduated with a degree in journalism in 1962. While at the University she was active in student organizations and government; her sorority, Gamma Phi Beta, of which she was President of the chapter; and on The Daily Texan, where she was an assistant editor. She was an avid fan of the Texas Longhorn football team. In her senior year, she was named the Outstanding Woman Student at the University.
In 1968 she came to Ann Arbor, Michigan, where she attended the University of Michigan Law School. She joined and subsequently became a partner at Dykema Gossett, where she worked for 25 years. In 1995, she left to join Miller Canfield, where she worked until retirement in 2010. Her principal specialty was hospital law, and she worked for a number of hospitals, doctors’ groups, and health care organizations. In Ann Arbor, she served on the boards of Greenhills School, Arbor Hospice, and the Ann Arbor Summer Festival.
She is survived by her husband; her son, Duncan, his wife, Leigh, and son, Henry, of Athens, Georgia; and her daughter, Ellen, her partner , Brian Cors, and their son, Wiley, of Ann Arbor.
