Beverly Smith, 81, passed away peacefully on January 14. She was born Beverly Joan Weyand on September 19, 1932 in Detroit. She attended grammar school in Wayne, Michigan and graduated from St. Mary’s Academy in Monroe. A 1955 graduate of Marygrove College, Beverly then worked for several years in the business community. My thoughts and prayer are sent out to the Smith Family. I worked with Bev at the Leidy Shop and always enjoyed my time at the shop.

Bob and I were so saddened to hear of Beverly's death, although we understand she had not been well for some time., and send our deepest sympathies to her family. Beverly was a beautiful, intelligent and accomplished woman whom we greatly admired. Along with so many St. Thomas families, our friendship goes back many years, and we treasure those memories. Her strength and courage in facing loss and adversity during her life, among the joys, was a source of inspiration to us all. Beverly was also a dear friend and bridge partner of Mary O'Connor Marshall during those years, and we know Mary would like to be remembered by the family at this time.
During our mutual working years, I got to visit Beverly often while shopping at John Leidy during my lunch hour, where she helped me select countless gifts for weddings and other events with her impeccable taste. Added to all the other quality facets of Beverly's life, we'll remember her expressive eyes and joyful laugh, and be grateful for knowing this classy lady.
Distance and weather will unfortunately keep us from attending the funeral, but we‘ll be with the family in our thoughts and prayers.

I knew Bev through church and school associations and always admired her. She was elegant, and had a very warm personality. My sympathies go to the family and she will be remembered by me in thoughts and prayers.

I knew Beverly Smith as Aunt Beverly for many years. We both became widows of Bob Smiths (uncle and nephew to each other), a bond we shared. She would have a warm and welcome smile for me at every family occasion over the 40 plus years we knew each other. I always thought of her as an elegant woman with a bit of mystery about her. She raised wonderful, friendly, caring children, who I always enjoy visiting with at family gatherings. Her late husband was a cool guy.
