

Born June 16, 1939 in Detroit, she was the daughter of Stewart J. and Laura E. (Burt) Sheff. Brenda was a 1957 graduate of Ann Arbor High School and attended Eastern Michigan University. On April 28, 1962 she married Charles R. Kapp, who preceded her in death on March 1, 2007.
Brenda worked for State Bank and Trust as a bookkeeper beginning in 1959, she then worked as a customer service rep for Clem Gill’s State Farm in 1979 and retired from Kleinschmidt Agency. She was a 50 year lifetime member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, a member of Zion Lutheran Church and Ruth’s Circle. She enjoyed playing Bunco and Common Needles at neighborhood gatherings, and was a daily mall walker for 20 plus years. Brenda spent many years traveling with her husband and the Golden Rule/Zal Gaz Grotto family. She was an avid sports fan, especially U of M Football and the Detroit Tigers and any of her grandkids sports they played, she never missed a game or concert. She loved spending time at her retirement home up north at Higgins Lake.
Brenda is survived by her children, son Steven Kapp and daughter Suzanne Kapp; three grandchildren, Jenna, Morgan and Jacob Preston; one brother Robert S. Sheff; and niece and nephews William Kapp, Barbara Kapp Fehn and Michael Kapp.
In honor of Brenda, memorial contributions may be made to the Zion Lutheran Church Endowment Fund or to a charity of one’s choice.
