Clara “Betty” Roos, 88, of Ann Arbor, died peacefully on Friday, September 18, 2026, following a stroke. Betty was born April 7, 1938, in Applegate, Michigan, to John Phillip and Lydia (Langolf) Weiss. She grew up on a farm and later moved to Ann Arbor, where she met and married Donald Roos.
For more than 60 years, Betty lived, worked at Ann Arbor Bank and Trust, and raised her family on Ann Arbor’s west side. She was a familiar sight in the neighborhood, often riding her powder-blue trike. Betty was one of a kind and lived life on her own terms.
Betty is survived by her children, John Roos and Mary (Richard) Coffey, and her grandchildren, Riley Coffey, Ella Coffey, and Jozo Weider Roos. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and her siblings.
A private family funeral and reception will be held. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Clean Water Action.
