Passed away Sunday, July 10, at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital after a lengthy illness. Dan was retired from a 30 year career as a research scientist at the Institute for Survey Research at the University of Michigan. Dan served his country in the US Army in Vietnam. Following his honorable discharge, he attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, graduating in 1971. He earned his PhD. in Economics at the University of Michigan in 1977. He was the author of numerous research papers. He is survived by his wife, Paula Malone; two stepchildren, Matthew Bracy and Meagan (Matthew) Hansen; and a grandson, William. He is also survived by his brother, Rev. C. R. Hill (Jacqueline) and two sisters, Merilee (Charles) Mobley and Susan Jayne. A memorial service will be held Friday, July 22.
