

Eileen Mae (Olds) Bauer passed away at home, Saturday, February 11, 2017. Eileen was born in Cone, Michigan on October 14, 1926. After graduation from Milan High School, Eileen worked as a secretary at U of M hospital. She rented an apartment on Fourth St. with 2 other women. One of the women was a roller skating friend of Fred Bauer Jr. and he immediately took a liking to her friend Eileen and the rest is history. Married for 72 years, together they raised six active children. When the children were older Eileen worked as a bookkeeper for Bolgos Dairy Farm and later retired from St. Joseph Mercy Hospital Radiology Department. Her retirement years were spent gardening, helping at church events, cooking with Fred, and most recently sewing quilts for children to keep when at the Urgent Care. Eileen was a long time active member of the Dixboro United Methodist Church. Eileen is survived by husband Frederick Bauer, Jr., daughter, Sally Bauer (Gary) Conn and sons, John Bauer, Philip (Rynda) Bauer, Daniel (Patricia) Bauer and sister, Geraldine Woods. Grandsons, Joseph (Tammy) Bauer, Jim (Kelly) Bauer, Michael Bauer, granddaughters, Michelle (Joe) Caryl, Kelly (Bob) Piccaro, and Arjan (Kaur) Khalsa, 8 great-grandchildren, 3 step-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Eileen was preceded in death by her parents Ida Preston Olds and Earl Olds, brothers Ivan and Stephen Olds, sons Gerald and Michael Bauer, and grandson Brian Bauer. The Bauer family would like to thank St. Joseph Mercy Hospice team and the women from Dixboro Methodist Church for their caring support for Eileen and her family. A funeral Service will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 15, 2017 at the Dixboro United Methodist Church (5221 Church Rd., Ann Arbor, MI 48105). The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m.-11:00 a.m. Eileen will be laid to rest in Dixboro Cemetery.
