Fletcher Walker Campbell

Fletcher Walker Campbell. Beloved son, grandson, nephew, cousin, and friend. Fletcher passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on Tuesday, August 18, 2026, due to complications related to an enlarged heart. Fletcher was born in Ann Arbor on December 11, 2007, where he was raised. A recent graduate of Pioneer High School, he was headed to the University of Michigan in the fall to start his next chapter in life.

Fletcher was always uniquely himself. At a young age, that meant wearing a red cape everywhere, green rain boots, and, for reasons known only to Fletcher, wearing a pair of glasses to preschool even though he didn't need them.

Fletcher was exceptionally smart, clever, and funny. He also had a real talent and appreciation for debating an issue. If there was an opposite point of view to take, Fletcher was your man. He could out-debate just about anyone, or just wear people down with his persistence.

Sports were a big part of Fletcher's life. He participated in track and cross country at Pioneer, earning a varsity letter as a junior. He loved the UFC, FIFA, football, and basketball. A lifelong Michigan fan, Fletcher loved Wolverine football and basketball. He knew the players, the coaches, the statistics, and had very clear opinions on what said players or coaches might have done wrong.

Fletcher had a close-knit group of friends, some of whom had been part of his life since first grade. During COVID, Fletcher and his friends found ways to stay connected, active, and together. Those friendships meant everything to him. They knew Fletcher's humor, his opinions, his quirks, and his ability to say something completely unexpected at exactly the wrong or funniest moment. His cross country teammates gave him the title “Most Likely to Say Something Out of Pocket," which suited him perfectly.

Fletcher loved to travel. He recently visited a friend in Germany, had traveled to Hawaii with friends, went to Iceland with his parents, skied in northern Michigan with friends, and made many family trips to Colorado and Florida.

Fletcher’s life was cut so incredibly short. Yet it was one filled with family, friends, love, curiosity, laughter, and even adventure.

Fletcher will always be with his family and friends in spirit and in memory.

He will be deeply missed by his adoring and loving parents, Faith Marie Sparr and Scott Walker Campbell. He will also be deeply missed by his grandparents, Clark Campbell, Diana Sparr, and Michael Sparr; aunts and uncles, Karen Campbell, Alex Campbell, Philip Sparr, Christina Baker-Sparr, Mariel Sparr, and Wyatt Boykin; and cousins, Campbell, Layla, Hazel, Augie, and Coco. He will also be missed by his many friends, whose lives he made better simply by being part of them.

A celebration of Fletcher's life will be held Thursday, August 27, 2026, from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. at Muehlig Funeral Chapel, 403 South 4th Avenue, Ann Arbor. A time of sharing will take place at 5:30 p.m. Interment will take place at Forest Hill Cemetery at a later date.
