He graduated from Whitmore Lake High School where he enjoyed many sport, but his passion was for wrestling, both as an athlete and later on as a coach. He was also active in the development and coaching of Matt and Brad in baseball, soccer, wrestling, and basketball. Sharing dad’s love for sports will always be one of our favorite memories. Whether it was never missing one of games or practices growing up, Saturdays at the Big House to watch the Wolverines, or trips to the ballpark to see the Tigers.
Dad was a hard and determined worker. Starting his own business in construction and touching the lives and neighborhoods all around the area. His work ethic and character were an extraordinary example for us to learn and develop into the men we are today. The lessons learn and knowledge shared will be carried on and passed to our children.
He was a loving son, a brother, devoted father and husband, friend, coach and mentor. Dad loved the outdoors, being in the woods, on the farm, boating and being on the construction site. He fought hard these last 9 years so that we could have as much time with him as we could. I know how hard it was for him to go from such an active engaged man and have that taken from him in a blink of an eye. We take comfort in knowing that he is at peace and can finally have the rest he deserves.
Dad was preceded in death by his father Fred “Bud” Nollar and his mother Betty Nollar. He is survived by his two sons, Matt and Brad. His legacy will live on through his grandchildren, Jack, Maggie, Gavin, and Adelaide. Dad will always be with us.
Please join us Sunday September 28th at Muehlig Funeral home for a memorial service from 12pm to 4pm. A small service will commence at 3pm followed by time for people to share memories if they choose. We look forward to seeing friend and family to celebrate the life of dad together.
