I just found out Mr Rothstein Passed away.  My condolences goes out to his family and loved ones. I am truly sad and hurt to hear this tragic news! Mr Rothstein gave me a sense of hope as a person with his kind teachings and his grateful heart. Mr Rothstein was my Chess teacher and instructor at King school and Clague school in the early nineties. I have ran after-school chess classes, Chess clubs, Chess tournaments,  and Chess Camps for over 15 years to inspire adults and children the fun, wonderful yet very important game of chess just like he did for me.  I am writing to Mr Rothstein and family to say thank you for being such a tremendous positive force in my life it was honor to be your student! Until we meet again someday.

Shock is an understatement . . . I just saw and visited with Haskell at our Gray Panther of Washtenaw meeting, Saturday, March 2nd. Haskell was a valued member of our group. He gave generously of his time, energy, and good ideas. Bringing his mother's recipe for strudel was always a highlight at the meetings. Haskell was very proud of that photo album which showed him with the grandchildren. Hasketll will be sorely missed by many  . . . Sincerely,

It is hard to believe that Haskell has passed away. He is one of the most kindhearted men we have ever met. He never loses temper, and would laugh away any problems he has. We feel really sad that he is not with us anymore. We are going to miss him immensely.

It was a shock to hear that Haskell had died. He was a wonderful man, witty, literate and kind. I was only a casual friend but I will miss him dearly. My condolences to his family. You will always have fond memories of him. I'm sorry I cannot come to the viewing as I am flying to California on Wednesday.
