
Jack was raised in Chicago. He served in the Army during World War II, then attended Illinois Institute of Technology on the GI bill. He earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in mathematics there, then came to the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor for more graduate work. After school, he worked at the UM’s Willow Run Labs. He later worked at and met his wife Carmen at Conduction Corporation Lab, who survives him. He worked at several technology companies in the Ann Arbor area, also working at MIT’s Lincoln Laboratory and living in Waltham, Massachusetts, and also in Santa Monica, California, for a few years, but eventually returning to Ann Arbor. Jack and Carmen were married for over 50 years, and have many friends, including some from college days and some from daily meals at Bell’s Diner. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his brother Milton (Nancy), nephew Scott (Traci) Miller, niece Danielle (Scott) Cagle, and great-grandnephew Jack Cagle. A memorial service will be held later.
