Jacquelyn Rose Edelmann, aged 53, passed away peacefully August 20, 2018 after a valiant 20 month battle with breast cancer in her home surrounded by family and friends. She was born August 8, 1965 to Margaret and Emmanuel Kamon in Grosse Pointe Shores, MI. She was a 1987 graduate of The University of Michigan School of Education and married Karl J. Edelmann, MD on June 20, 1987. Together they had a son and daughter whom she loved dearly, never missing a moment being a part of their lives including early mornings and late nights at skating rinks, volleyball and basketball practice, multiple national and international trips as a skating chaperone, multiple adventures with Emily and her best friend Kari Dowty and her children, as well as organizing and supporting her husband in his medical practice and the U.S. Air Force. Jackie taught adult education in the Lincoln Consolidated School District before becoming the billing manager for Karl and their family medical practice in Ann Arbor. Jackie loved life, loved people and anyone who met her could feel the love, warmth, and zest for life she exuded. She pursued her passions with fervor, joining the Ann Arbor music scene first as a roadie, then singing backup, and eventually singing duets with her dear friend and caregiver Chris Goerke and Shoot the Messenger. She was known to be a gracious and caring hostess, organizing epic New Year’s parties where all were welcome. In her final days she again asked for and received multiple friends to say goodbye and share her love one last time. She is survived by her husband Karl; son Karl J; daughter Emily (Jason) McGehee; her parents Margaret and Emmanuel; and her brother Alan (Karen).
