Jane Melinda Purcell, 67, passed away suddenly at home in Ann Arbor on September 5, 2021. Jane had a presence that was larger than life, and only her passion for creating and healing may have rivaled it. She was a talented artist, and her passion for each of her crafts showed in her work. She was an amazing potter, spinner, weaver, knitter, felter, as well as jewelry maker. She was a member of the Ann Arbor Potter’s Guild and the Ann Arbor Fiberarts Guild. Jane also graduated from University of Michigan School of Business and Barbara Brennan School of Healing in Westin, Florida. She loved all animals and maintained a farm with nine horses with the hopes of someday using them in healing. She will be greatly missed by her husband Donn Nelson, her sons Kyle (Kaye Eshelman) and Aaron (Sue Kim) Nelson-Purcell, her mother Germaine Purcell, her sisters Nicolette Harper (Bruce), Therese Tyler (Bob), Colleen Purcell, Sara Purcell (John Regan), Heidi Purcell (Mike Giraud) as well as her extended four legged family. She was preceded in death by her sister Cyndee Purcell and father Francis Purcell. Visitation will be held at Muehlig Funeral Chapel on Tuesday, September 14, 2021 from 4:00 until 7:00 PM.
