Jennifer Lynn “Jenny” Fisher, age 55, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 18, 2026. She was born on February 28, 1971, in Morrison, Illinois, and was raised on her family’s farm, where she developed a lifelong love of music and a deep, abiding faith in Jesus Christ.
Jenny graduated from Eastland High School in Lanark, Illinois, in 1989. She went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts in Music Therapy from Western Illinois University in 1994. She began her career as a music therapist at a nursing home in Henry, Illinois, where she used her gifts to bring comfort and joy to others.
Following her calling in ministry, Jenny moved to Michigan to serve with Chi Alpha Campus Ministries, where she invested deeply in the lives of college students. She was lovingly known as “Pastor Jenny,” a name that reflected the care, guidance, and spiritual leadership she offered and one that remained with her throughout the years. She later became a music educator, teaching at Concordia College and Eastern Michigan University. In 2007, she earned her Master’s degree in Music Education.
Jenny’s love of music and ministry extended beyond the classroom. In 1992, she toured Europe with the Celebrant Singers. She was also actively involved with the Gordon Institute for Music Learning, where she regularly attended and presented at conferences and served on faculty.
She found great joy in life’s simple pleasures—gardening, working in her yard, tending her chickens, and caring for her beloved dog, Davey. Jenny also had a special gift for bringing people together, often planning creative and memorable gatherings for family and friends.
Jenny was preceded in death by her grandparents, Russell and Marie Lamoreux, and Harold and Dorothy Zwicker; and by her beloved husband, Samuel A. Fisher, who passed away on January 18, 2026.
She is survived by her parents, John and Marilyn Lamoreux; her siblings, Darcy (Aaron) Mathes, Andrew (Kristie) Lamoreux, and Dan (Stacy) Lamoreux; as well as many nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles. She is also survived by her mother-in-law, Lynette Fisher; four brothers-in-law; and two sisters-in-law.
The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude for the extraordinary love and care provided by family members and friends throughout Jenny’s journey, surrounding her with comfort, care, and constant presence. They also extend sincere thanks to Trinity Home Hospice for their compassionate support and care in her final days.
Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial service on Monday, March 23, 2026, at Hot Rock Church, located on Merritt Road in Ypsilanti, Michigan. Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m., followed by the service at 10:00 a.m.
Burial will take place at Marble Park Cemetery in Milan, Michigan.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Trinity Home Hospice (https://www.trinityhealthathome.org/michigan/donate) or The Marilyn Lowe Scholarship Fund (https://musicmovesforpiano.com/memorial-give/).
Jenny’s life was a testament to her faith, and her legacy of love, music, and devotion to Christ will continue to inspire all who knew her.
