Jerfaas Haas

Jerfaas A. Haas, (Opa), age 95, of West Bloomfield , Michigan passed away on Thursday, January 19, 2023. Jerfaas was born in The Netherlands on May 21, 1927 to Johannes and Evert Haas. Jerfaas is survived by his daughter Eveline Gale; his son Jerry Haas (Karen) and his daughter Alida Luteijn (Robert) and his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Jerfaas was preceded in death by his wife Maria Haas and his mother and father. Jerfaas attended school in the Netherlands. He married Maria van der Kooy, his high school sweetheart in 1950. Jerfaas and Maria immigrated to Winnipeg Canada in 1953 and in 1964 moved to Ann Arbor, Michigan where Jerfaas worked as an accountant for the University of Michigan. His children, their partners and his grandchildren and great-grandchildren remember him as a kind and loving father and opa.He was a talented soccer player in the Netherlands and up to his death he loved watching soccer games. Jerfaas was also a member of the Netherlands-America University League. A private service will be held by Jerfaas’ children to say their goodbyes. The family would like to thank the caregivers of American House, Farmington Hills for their care and efforts.
