Mississippi. On August 24, 2025, in Ann Arbor, Michigan, Jeulene Yarrington, at the age of 82,
departed this life doing what she knew best, calling on the name of Jesus.
In 1955, the family moved to Chicago, Illinois, where she met and married Vernon Lee Yarrington.
They had four children: Vernon Lee Yarrington Jr., Terry Vernell Yarrington, Anthony Yarrington, and
Angela Denise Yarrington. She later gave birth to her youngest child, Katrice Rashawn Yarrington.
Jeulene worked for many companies, doing whatever she needed to take care of her family. She
retired after more than 20 years from the University of Michigan, Patient Food Services. Retirement
allowed her to devote even more time to God.
Jeulene accepted Christ and was baptized in the name of Jesus in 1974. She was a faithful
member of New Grace Apostolic Temple for over 50 years, serving in many ministries: Ministers
Alliance, Christian Education, Nurses Guild, Women’s Ministry, and more. She was a prayer warrior,
worked in the kitchen, and was known and adored for her chocolate chip cookies and yeast rolls.
Those cookies were so good they ministered to the belly, maybe a little too much! Jeulene became
an ordained and licensed Evangelist in 2013.
Jeulene is survived by her children, Vernon Lee Yarrington Jr., Angela Denise Wyatt, and Katrice
Rashawn Yarrington (Reginald Deon Harris, Sr.); her grandchildren, Linda Mae Yarrington, Reginald
Deon Harris Jr., Jamaya James Wyatt, and Jocelyn Monet Harris (Jordan); and countless family
and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sons Anthony Yarrington and Terry
Vernell Yarrington, and her siblings Wilma Windham and Andrew Strong.
A memorial visitation for Jeulene will be held Friday, September 5, 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at New Grace Apostolic Church, followed by a home going service at 12:00 PM.
