

As we look on the calendar we find two precious dates which have set the limit of the life of Hope Goethe Miley Lock; which are February 7, 1919 when she opened her eyes in this changing world, and February 9, 2012 when the tireless angel who gathers the choicest spirits for the heavenly company touched her weary eyes, and they were forever closed. The deceased was the daughter of Florence C. and Alfred E. Goethe. She was married to Carl A. Miley on June 26, 1937. To this union eight children were born: Joyce Bassett, Carlene(William) Kaniski, David(Patricia)Miley, Katrina ( Kent )Thiel, Roger(Susan)Miley, and Joan(Matthew Helgeson)High. Additionally, touched by her life and passing, son in law Edward J. Krol and special friend Mary Fischer.Surviving are twenty-four Grandchildren, and 33 Great Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by Carl, and her second husband Thomas E. Lock as well as two daughters; Margaret H. Krol, Linda R. Schrock, and two Son-in-Laws Kenneth E. Schrock and Donald E. Bassett. Also, she was preceded in death by Brothers Paul Goethe, Donald Goethe, and one sister, Vera, who died in infancy. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 2:00-4:00 & 6:00-8:00pm with a Rosary at 7:00pm at the Muehlig Funeral Chapel. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Monday at 11:00am with visitation from 10:00 until time of Mass at St. Mary’s Student Parish in Ann Arbor . Burial will follow at St. Thomas Catholic Cemetery .
