

Weber, Margaret Mary (Rita) Age 89 passed away peacefully at Gilbert Residence Hall on November 25, 2015, with her family around her. She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Roger Weber, her parents Denis and Margaretha (Peg) Anglim, and her brother Thomas Anglim. She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Cathleen Weber, Denise (Richard) Herrmann, Christopher Weber, Lisa (Tom) Hummel, Jonathan (Debra) Weber, and Peg (John) Arana; her grandchildren, Benjamin Jenks, Meaghan (Hartford) Carter, Molly (Alan) Diez, Max Herrmann, Caitlin Hummel, Joanna Hummel, Denise Calvert, Cody Arana, and Nick Weber; 5 great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, godchildren and close friends. Rita was born in Brooklyn NY on October 18, 1926. She received a degree in English from St. Joseph's College for Women in NYC. She married her husband, Roger on October 27, 1951. Rita went on to receive a Masters Degree in Counseling from MSU and worked as a high school counselor at Our Lady of Mercy on Long Island in New York, after raising her six children in Michigan. She was a dedicated volunteer for Our Lady of Sorrows Church and School and active in many organizations, but especially proud to be a certified member of Mensa for many years. Rita was a cherished wife, loving mother and "Nana" who passed on her joy of reading, the theatre, NYC, and traveling to her children and grandchildren. She will be dearly missed by all. Her family would like to thank her special caregivers at Gilbert Residence in Ypsilanti and Angela Hospice. Contributions in her memory may be made to Right to Life of Michigan. Visitation will be Sunday, November 29, 2015 from 1:00 – 3:30 p.m. and 5:30 – 8 p.m. at the Muehlig Funeral Chapel and again on Monday, November 30 from 3 – 7 p.m. with a rosary prayed at 6:30 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, December 1, 2015 at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church (530 Elizabeth St., Ann Arbor). Rita will be laid to rest on Wednesday December 2, 2015 at 11:30 a.m. at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, Michigan. Arrangements under the direction of Muehlig Funeral Chapel, Ann Arbor, MI.
