Deeply saddened doesn’t even come close to how I and many feel when hearing of Dr. Jossens passing! Marianne was such a beautiful soul inside and out, as she made everyone, especially our ‘pets’ , feel like they were loved and the only ones in the room!! The sweetness Bacardi, Duke, Asher and KalleeKoe had for her showed in every wiggle, wag-of-tail, purr and rub! I am sure many of our ‘furevers’  were greeting her with a pounce, a jump and a lick! I am sending a huge bouquet of prayers, love, and strength to get through this most difficult time sprinkled with many hugs to Marc and her family!! She will be missed by so many each and every day!!

Our most sincere condolences on the passing of this most beautiful soul!  Dr. Jossens has been our family vet ever since she joined GT Vet Clinic and we could just see immediately what a gem she was. Her sincerity and care for all animals was just one of the many qualities we admired about her. Her passion for her job is unrivaled. The deep love for her children was so evident in her conversations with us as we got to know her better over the years. She was such a light and we believe she will continue to be that light for her family from the other side. Speak of her often, look for signs and may you continue to feel her loving presence.

Marianne was a kind and caring person and vet. We took several of our pets to her and she did several surgeries on them. We always knew they were in excellent hands. My condolences go out to her family and colleagues.

Words can not express our gratitude on the exceptional care Dr. J gave our Charlie and Claire.  Dr J was truly a kind, caring and loving soul that always treated them as her own and us as family.  When Charlie passed away suddenly she comforted us and when it was time to say goodbye to Claire, I knew it saddened her also as she often told Claire she loved her too.    
When I was looking for a veterinarian that addressed my concerns with Claire three years ago God must have directed us to her.    Dr J worked so hard with MSU and us throughout all the ups and downs  and her support and follow up was always so appreciated.  
We will always miss her smile and her kindness and was blessed to have her in our lives.

I am gutted. Marianne was the kindest, gentlest and most patient veterinarian I ever knew. She vetted my four-legged family members for nearly 30 years, and eased several of them over the Rainbow Bridge in the comfort of our home. She will be sadly missed for years to come. I am deeply saddened by the passing of Dr. Jossens. She has cared for my 2 Holland lop rabbits, Misha and Mia Bella, for the past 5 years since we moved to Traverse City.  Dr. Jossens is one of the kindest and most caring individuals that I have ever met.  She took the time to help educate me on nutrition and proper care for Misha and Mia Bella, as rabbits’ health can be very fragile.  I also always appreciated that she would personally call, even after a long clinic day, to follow up and check on my fur babies. Her calm, patient, and gentle demeanor was always so reassuring.  I am truly grateful for all the care that she has provided to Misha and Mia Bella.
Dr. Jossens’ expertise, compassion, and smile will truly be missed.

Marianne was an aunt to all the Maday family children. Being a long-term partner to our Uncle Marc, Marianne has always been a part of our lives. She was a bright, loving light at our holiday gatherings - always bringing a fun new story about an animal she had been treating or a crazy wildlife encounter she had while journeying with our Uncle Marc. She was also an active member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church and loved to share her faith with her TC family.  

We loved spending time with our Aunt Marianne, and we know she made an incredible influence on so many people's lives. Prayers for all grieving in this time and for a repose of her lovely soul.

Some people just make a difference in peoples lives. DR. J. was one of those humans. I am very sad to hear of her passing and will miss her very much! She truly touched my heart with her compassion and thoughtful ways.

I came to Dr J at GT Vet for our 2 birds about 4 years ago.   I knew her as a customer at the PSP at Airport near Garfield.  I decided to bring one of our cats for a second opinion.  When she got on her hands and knees to watch him walk(in circles) I switched all our cats  over to her.   They are FIV and she was easy to talk with and understand what she was explaining.   She was just so kind and caring, and it showed when she called late in the evenings to talk about a test result or just to be sure our pet was doing ok.  I am grieving and will miss you.  You were a one of a kind.  RIP.

I am so sorry to hear about Dr. Jossens. She was so kind and supportive. I can still see her walking around with her little notebook old-school style, jotting down pet information or taking care of the exotics like hampsters and bearded dragons. Such a gentle touch. Dr. Jossens was such a kind, caring, and compassionate person. She provided our dogs excellent care, and was kind enough to drive out to our house on more than one occasion to allow our dogs to cross the rainbow bridge while in the comfort and familiar surroundings of their own home. We really appreciate the wonderful care she provided. Dr. Jossens was one of a kind, and she will be missed.

Dr. Jossens was a beautiful soul who cared deeply for everyone who crossed her path. She is through adoption, care, and parting for several of our fur babies, treating each one with dignity and love. The world won’t be the same without her, but we will carry her light in our hearts always.

Marianne took care of our hospice therapy dog.  She was kind enough to come to our home when it was time to have our golden retriever cross over the rainbow bridge.  She also helped us with our many feline friends.

Peridot will miss her beloved Dr. J who was always so gentle with her. Trying to figure out what she was allergic to, making notes in her notebook that she always carried in her pocket.  I remember the last time I saw her, she looked as beautiful as ever with that smile of hers reassuring me about my cat all the while knowing that she was going to be going away for some painful, hopeful treatment but you never would've known it.  God bless her beautiful soul.

I know that I am not alone when I say that she was one of a kind! Dr. J always went above and beyond. When my little buddy Bailey came down with an illness that was killing him she spent hours researching, calling me almost every night after work hours, checking in on him (and on me) knowing how much he meant to me and how worried I was about him being in pain. And when it was decided that he couldn't be saved she was there for him and for  me.  Always with so much love and compassion.

We were deeply saddened to hear of Marianne's passing. In caring for our several dogs and cats over the past twenty years, Marianne's professionalism, love, and compassion never failed us. It was always a joy to see her. We will miss her very much, and we offer our deepest sympathy to all of her family and friends.

We adopted our poodle at 6 years old and took him for his first (ever) veterinarian appointment. He was so scared and shaking with fear when Dr. J. came into the room. As she talked to him with a soft voice and gentle touch I saw him calm down and relax so she could do a thorough exam.   Dr. J. had amazing effect on animals.  This is a terrible loss.

We are deeply saddened to hear of the loss of Dr. Jossens.  I first met her when she saw my first Labrador.  She was instrumental in diagnosing and saving him.  And she was the Dr for my current pups.  Her care, knowledge and devotion to the animals were unmatched.  Her love and attention to animals was incredible, often staying late at night to care for them and contacting me with details of their health (sometimes well into the night).  She will most certainly be remembered for being such a wonderful person and an extraordinary, dedicated veterinarian.   God broke the mold when he made her.  Rest in peace Dr. J, you will be incredibly missed.

Such a loss. She is literally the best person and Veterinarian ever. I’ve sent many friends to her and whenever possible refused to see anyone but her. She showed such love and care for our pets and us. She seemed to love what she did; she was always engaged and available whenever we needed her; at times calling with updates long after hours. She treated them like she’d treat her own. So sorry to the family and all who love her for their loss.

These two and my husband and I will forever be grateful for the love and care she has shown to all of our dogs we have had. It’s been over 15 years that we’ve trusted Dr. Jossens to love and care for our pets. She will be so missed. We love you so much.

Even my little Sky who was so shy and hid under the chair most of the time would let her pick him up  and he wasn't afraid.  She had a way of calming them and always had a treat ready .  When they passed she was there to make it loving and easier for them and for me.  I will miss her and our visits. So very sorry to hear of Dr Jossens passing, I was just thinking about her today.  The most caring and the most thorough veterinarian with her small notebook full of vital notes on everyone’s pets.  We moved and had to change veterinarians but no one will ever compare to Marianne…she even diagnosed my lactose intolerance.  We shared a great love of the outdoors, nature and animals, what a tremendous heart Marianne had.  Thoughts and prayers to all who was blessed to know her

Marianne as a young vet in Grand Rapids, MI.  She also volunteered at a local zoo, where she aided an awakening youngster from his recent sedation.  Marianne was my sister-in-law, but I didn't yet know her when this photo was taken.  Nevertheless it was a favorite of mine, and perhaps of the entire family's.   I thought that those who loved Marianne as their vet would also appreciate this photo, so am sharing it here.

We have had Dr. Jossens as our veterinary for years.  We cannot believe she is gone.  She was a true pet whisperer.  She had been with us when we lost many of our pets.  She understood our heartache, was loyal, a gifted veterinarian and a true professional.  Our hope is that she is at peace and knew how much she was loved and will be missed.  Our sympathies to her family and friends.

We entrusted our dogs gratefully , she was a warm and brilliant clinician. Our Lily’s last few years were enhanced and  most likely extended because of her wisdom. Our deepest sympathies to her family, we were all touched by her warmth,

I am saddened to hear of Dr. J’s passing. Dr. J was my Sunny’s vet. Sunny was old and her health was failing. Dr. J treated Sunny with love and compassion. I brought my first puppy to her fifteen years ago and I chose her because she was on Veterans drive and was closest to our home. She was also the longest outstanding vet in the area. He lives alone with just me his mom and he’s a mommas boy and absolutely LOVED her so much.  The last time we went to see her (a few months ago)  to get his infected toe amputated I asked her how much longer she thought I had with him and she said if I was lucky one to two years. I’m so sad hearing this news because now I don’t know who’s going to get me through losing my best friend my baby who’s she’s known his whole life and who I thought was going to make the decisions for me.  Im so sorry for your loss. My heart is with you.

My condolences to her family. She was our vet for all our rescues. She was the sweetest person. She took extra care of my ruger when he was ill. Im sorry to see she passed away.

My wife and I are very saddened to hear of Dr. J's passing. She always had a smile for everyone she came in contact with. She was both our vet and friend. She was one of those people that you remembered well after perhaps meeting only in passing because of her warmth and genuine caring. Whether she was flipping you at Karate or laughing about it later, you know that she was a truly generous person with her time. She will be missed by all that were lucky to have been in her life.

I first met Marrianne  in Grand Rapids, 43 yrs ago. I worked with her as a veterinary technician in the evenings.  She was an amazing vet and was always thirsty for knowledge. Not only was she my mentor but she treated me as an equal and a friend as well.  We’d have many deep conversations and laughter.  I moved back to my hometown and when I heard she moved to Traverse City I was overjoyed !  She’d come over and we’d target practice together. 

Her kindness , enthusiasm and friendship will be missed.

Dr Jossens was truly a part of our family.  She is one of the most special people I have known in my life.  She cared for my pets and my mom’s for 15 years. 
Her compassion, care and devotion to veterinary science was truly remarkable.   She is greatly missed.

See how he was doing.  Then taking care of our little Winston since we first got him 9 yrs ago until she went on medical leave.  She felt like our friend not our veterinarian .  When my young Granddaughter came with me to take Winston to see Dr J she would listen to G and her input such a blessing .  We will miss you so very much you were the best of the best❤️🙏🏻

Marianne joined girls night out at my home (Carol Ross) January, 2024 to share her interesting history of getting into the veterinary health field. She answered many of our questions about pet health and care and was loads of fun. I had a sweater made for my cat Oreo that said “I Luv Dr. J.” She got the biggest kick out of seeing that sweater on him. I had a cake made, especially for her visit. She hung out with us for most of the night. I will miss her immensely. She brought me such comfort and confidence whenever I visited Grand Traverse Veterinary Hospital.

We are heartbroken to hear of the passing of our dear friend.    Dr. Jossens just didn’t take care of our Spinoni’s, she loved them.     She was always willing to go the extra mile to make sure they had the best possible care.    
 We were always greeted with a smile, hug and that will be deeply missed.   
   If ( and I believe) that our animals will be waiting for us in heaven.   It brings a smile to my face to think of the great reunion of all the animals she has ever helped, and how they will come running, upon her arrival.    Thank you Dr Jossens for all you have done for this family.    You will be deeply missed , loved, and always remembered.

This woman took care of our fur family.  She was loving, caring and so wise.  Whenever we had to let a dog go, it was hard on her, too.  I felt like she had no private life!
