

She graduated from Pontiac Central High School and then obtained a teaching degree from Michigan State University. It was at Michigan State where she met the love of her life, Al Harwood, they were married in 1961.
She was a teacher for 36 years in the Howell Public Schools and Pinckney Community Schools. She was popular amongst her students for bringing farm animals to her classes she taught.
Marsha was very involved as a leader and volunteer with 4-H in Livingston County. She volunteered to help direct “Project Red” for the Livingston County Farm Bureau where she would invite 3rd grade classes to experience agriculture for a day. She had a huge passion for the Michigan State Fair, eventually becoming a Director on the board of the New Michigan State Fair in Novi. For the past 10 years, she helped developed the Home Arts and Agriculture Department.
Marsha was the loving wife of Alfred Harwood for 62 years. Beloved mother of Susie Harwood-Brown (Jay) and Billy Harwood (Tami). Devoted grandmother of Zak Harwood, Tyler Harwood and Jaycie Brown. Also survived by her sister in law Janice Harwood.
Marsha’s family will receive friends on from 2:00-8:00pm on Wednesday, January 10th, 2024 at Muehlig Funeral Chapel, 403 S. 4th Ave., Ann Arbor, MI 48104. A Funeral Service will be at 11:00am on Thursday, January 11th, 2024. Visitation on Thursday begins at 10:30am. Burial will take place immediately after the funeral at Harwood Cemetery.
