Mary Ann Lee

Lee, Mary Ann Mary Ann Lee 9/27/43 - 12/10/16 Ann Arbor, MI. died peacefully surrounded by family at the age of 73. Born in Sault Ste. Marie, MI to Byron and Hazel (Bailey), Mary Ann grew up in Detour Village where her father co-owned Schopp's grocery store and her mother was well known as the village treasurer. After high school she worked as a secretary for Dr. Shaftoe in St. Ignace. Not long after, she married Jerry Lee and together they moved to Ann Arbor in the 1960's. After the birth of her two children she went back to work in the 1970's and enjoyed a 30 plus year career working as a registrar for the Boy Scouts of America in Ann Arbor. She is survived by her daughter Elizabeth (Bruce), and grand daughter Bailey Lawless of Appleton, WI., son Kevin Lee of Saline, MI., and brothers Byron (Susan) Schopp of Holt, MI., David (JoAnn) Schopp of Gaylord, MI., James (Toni) Schopp of Sault Ste. Marie, MI., and multiple nieces and nephews. A memorial gathering will be held at the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Ann Arbor (7881 Jackson Rd, Ann Arbor, MI 48103) on Monday December 19th from 4-6 PM. In lieu of flowers please consider sending donations to the Eagles Auxiliary, an organization that was near and dear to her heart.
