Monica Marie Thibault

day after her 92nd birthday. She was born in Jackson, Michigan, on December 13,

1930 to Carl and Gladys Burton. She was raised by her mother and her loving

stepfather, Norman James Carter. She graduated from St Thomas the Apostle High

School, Ann Arbor, Michigan, in 1948. She then graduated from Mercy School of

Nursing, becoming a registered nurse. She married the kind and thoughtful John P.

Thibault at St Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church on October 17, 1953. They enjoyed

67 years of marriage before his passing in 2021. She was an avid reader and puzzle

solver. She enjoyed watching sports, especially baseball, football and hockey. She

cheered for her Detroit teams. She had a passion for her grandchildren, attending

countless baseball games, basketball games, piano and dance recitals. Her greatest

joy came from her family. She will be forever remembered by those who knew and

loved her.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, John Philip Thibault. She is survived

by her two daughters: Molly Cleary (Robert) and Marti Blayer (Michael), both of Ann

Arbor, Michigan, six grandchildren: John “Jack” Cleary, Samuel Cleary, Monica

Burgstiner (Lance), Meghan Cleary (James Kelly), Joseph Cleary, and Annie Cleary, and

her brother Robert Burton of Ann Arbor, Michigan. She had 2 great-granddaughters:

Nora and Ada Burgstiner.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St Francis of Assisi Catholic Church on

Tuesday, December 27 at 11 AM with visitation one-half hour before Mass. Interment

will follow at St Thomas Cemetery, Ann Arbor, Michigan.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made to the Humane

Society of Huron Valley or the St. Louis Center in Chelsea, Michigan.
