Paul George Contos

Contos, Paul G. 3/8/1950 - 11/21/2016 Alma, MI & Ann Arbor, MI Contos, Paul George of Alma, Michigan formerly of Ann Arbor, Michigan died Monday, November 21, 2016 at the age of 66 after an extended illness; He resided at the Masonic Pathways in Alma for the past 15 years. Paul was born to John and Olga Contos in Ypsilanti, Michigan on March 8, 1950. He graduated from Pioneer High School and after graduation he attended classes at Eastern Michigan and University of Michigan Universities. He worked alongside his parents at their family bar The Star Lounge on Main St. in Ann Arbor for many years. He was a past Worshipful Master at the Ann Arbor Fraternity lodge #262 and lifelong member there. He enjoyed extended trips on his motorcycle throughout the US and Canada. He also enjoyed traveling to visit his family in Australia and Greece. He enjoyed people and loved to schmooze with them and share good conversations. He is survived by his sister; Helen Contos Knapp, and his aunt; Antonia Patrikakos, many cousins and other extended family members in Greece, Australia and Canada. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother in law; Richard D. Knapp. A funeral service will be Friday, November 25, 2016 at 12 noon at St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church (3109 Scio Church Rd. Ann Arbor). He will be laid to rest next to his parents at Bethlehem Cemetery. Donations may be offered to St. Nicholas Iconography fund.
