My profound heartfelt condolences to the family of Reggie Baugh.
Reg was my mentor and a big brother to me when I was a medical student at the University of Michigan in the 1980’s. There were few Residents of Color in those days and he never shied from filling the role of mentor. Without his guidance I would have NEVER achieved the success I have been blessed with as an Otolaryngologist. His quiet confidence was always inspiring. It was always a pleasure to seem him through the years. Reggie never stopped advancing, learning or giving back.
Rest well brother. You will never be forgotten.

May GOD Bless and keep the family of
Dr. Reginald Baugh. I had the honor of being welcomed into Dr. Baugh’s family as one of his caregivers, in the later stages of his illness.
The whole family treated me well.
Dr. Baugh was so kind and encouraging even in his illness. His wife treated me as her own and his sons were the kindest people I’ve ever met. Because I spent a lot of time in their home, I met many of their family members, and they made me feel like I was one of their own.
They taught me so many things and I loved being in their presence. I was proud to know them and I still am. This is a wonderful family and Dr. Reggie Baugh is STILL a wonderful son, brother, husband, father, uncle, Dr. , leader, colleague , mentor friend and many more because his legacy and the lives he touched will live on forever.
GOD BLESS YOU MRS BAUGH, BRANDON, YANIKA, ARRON AND ALL IMPACTED BY THIS GREAT LOSS OF A GIANT IN YOUR HEARTS

I first met with Dr. Baugh as an early, naive medical student interested in otolaryngology at Toledo. His passion towards the field was contagious and is one of the reasons I decided to pursue a career in otolaryngology. Despite his physical ailments, he went out of his way to mentor myself and many other Toledo medical students on our way to matching into otolaryngology residency, something I will be forever grateful for. I wish him much deserved peace in heaven and send my deepest condolences to his family and friends lucky enough to know this kind hearted man.

Reggie, you are a wonderful example of a father, physician, teacher and mentor. Having known you, consulted with you and watched you affect the lives of so many of our students has been an honor. I’m glad you had the opportunity to relish the growth and early career of your physician son. When any teaching physician needs an example of outstanding guidance I always look back on lessons I learned from you. God speed friend.

To the family of Reggie, My sincere condolences and sympathy go out to you . He was truly a blessing to many in our specialty of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery and to his patients. I first met him at an NMA meeting at a resident . Since then I have admired and been inspired by his advice, contributions to our specialty and to our society. Most recently I coauthored a paper with him, just a small part of the many contributions that he has made over the years . God blessed us all with his presence and life's work and he has now been received by his heavenly home. Reggie you DID make a difference .
God Bless and Rest in Heaven ,

Some lead by words, others by example. “Reg” did both. He became a friend, mentor and dear colleague. I remain in awe of his capacity and dedication to advancing the field of Otolaryngology and his tireless pursuit of creative and thoughtful educational reform to recruit, evaluate and teach the best future generation of physicians. Meanwhile, he provided compassionate care to his patients as a gifted surgeon. One of humanity’s worst diseases could not discourage him nor blemish his quiet dignity and relentless optimism. I treasure the opportunity our lives had to intersect. My deepest gratitude to his family for allowing him to share his many gifts with the rest of us.

Many years ago, he interviewed for academic position at Howard University Hospital in Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery. He was inquisitive, soft spoken and obviously brilliant. With pleasure, I followed his academic career and the devoted, support of this family in his fight against a malady that would test most. Throughout the protracted illness, he personified exemplary courage.

My condolences on Reggie’s passing. We met many years ago while both of us were in uniform serving our country.
Subsequently I followed his career in academia and beyond.
Reggie was always one who strived to improve and better himself.
I remember his dedication to our specialty Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery and his tireless work for our academy.
His presence with us, although short, was an inspiration to many other young people to become surgeons and Otolaryngologist.
He will be missed by his patients, his colleagues, and his family.
