

Bruce, Rob Allen of Ann Arbor, MI died Thursday, February 12, 2015. He was 53 years of age. Rob was born in Frankfurt, Germany the son Robert Alexander and Ingrid (nee Kirsammer) Bruce. Raised in Adrian, MI, he was a graduate from the University of Michigan with a Master’s degree in finance. He married Mary Beth Muncey in July of 1988. He founded Johnny Carino’s Italian Restaurants of Michigan, a restaurant business still flourishing today and he worked tirelessly in his final days to secure and leave a lasting legacy to all of his employees. Rob was a fiercely positive individual who battled illness privately for many years while running Johnny Carino’s and caring for his family. Many of his friends were able to be with him during the last days of his life. He was also on the Board of Directors of the Michigan Restaurant Association and he was able to be an organ donor so that others may have a better life. He was preceded in death by his father; Robert Alexander Bruce and father in law; Robert Aloysius Muncey. Rob is survived by his wife; Beth, and was the proud father of Gunnar Alexander Bruce, mother; Ingrid Bruce, two brothers; Grant (Sheila) and Glenn (Mary) Bruce, mother-in-law; Patricia Ruth Muncey, sister-in-laws; Cynthia (Tom) and Diane, brother-in-laws; Michael (Kathi) and Mark (Jay), uncle of; Shannon, Max, Daniel, Jack, Annie, Marinna, Charlie, and Garrett. There are several other family members and numerous friends he leaves behind. A Celebration of Life followed by Brunch will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday February 20, 2015 at Barton Hills Country Club (730 Country Club Rd, Ann Arbor). Suggested memorials may be offered to the Michigan Cancer Foundation or Heartland Hospice. Envelopes will be available at the celebration.
