He was born and raised in Cleveland OH. After high school he travelled some and then Joined the US Coast Guard serving on Michigan’s Great Lakes.
Robert enjoyed trading and building model trains and train layouts, boating, camping and traveling in his RV. He was an accomplished wood worker and throughout his life made many pieces of furniture including at the age of 82 an entire set of kitchen cabinets.
Those left to cherish his memory are his children Robert (Diane) LaCoste, Kimberly (Doug) Startt and Chris (Amanda) Lotts. Bother Bill (Sue) LaCoste, sisters Charlotte Geiger and Pat Krowiak. Six grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents Robert is preceded in death by his loving wife Ann, two sons Marc and Christopher. Brother John and grandson Dillion Green.
A gathering of family and friends will take place Thursday, October 8, 2026, from 11 until 12 noon at Muehlig Funeral Chapel, 403 South 4th Ave, Ann Arbor, Michigan. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Cemetery, Ann Arbor.
