

Robert M. Scott, Jr. made his earthly debut on January 6, 1944 in Ann Arbor, MI to Juanita Guster Scott and Robert M. Scott, Sr. And it was in Ann Arbor that he grew up with his younger brother, Michael Allen. They played, got into mischief, and thrived as the Scott boys on Summit Street. Then, both grew up and became employed citizens. Upon Robert’s graduation from Central State University in Wilberforce, OH, he began his professional career as Employment Representative at the University of Michigan Hospital. Then, he was promoted as Employment Supervisor on the U-M campus. Later, he was promoted as Personnel Director at the U-M, Flint. His last professional move was to Ann Arbor, MI as the City’s Personnel Director where he retired. While at Trinity Health St. Joseph Hospital, Robert returned to his Heavenly home on January 11, 2025. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother. He has left to mourn his passing, his wife of 44 years, Fairy C. Hayes-Scott, his son, Brett F. Scott, and daughter, Cheyne R. Scott, his grandchildren, B. Devon Scott, Kevin L. Scott, Kaleb L. Scott, and Kennedy A. Scott, and special cousin, Audrey Lucas, close family friend, Jeanne Collins, and friend since they were babies, Kenneth Williams. In addition, Robert Scott will be missed by nephew, Nathan Scott, and niece, Maya Scott, and several cousins and friends.
A family hour for Robert will be held Saturday, January 18, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Muehlig Funeral Chapel, 403 S 4th Avenue, Ann Arbor, Michigan 48104. A funeral service will occur Saturday, January 18, 2025 at 11:00 AM, 403 S 4th Avenue, Ann Arbor, Michigan 48104. A burial will follow the service Saturday, January 18, 2025 at Washtenong Memorial Park, 3771 Whitmore Lake Rd, Ann Arbor, Michigan 48105.
