Spencer Joseph Steiff, age 12, died unexpectedly April 20. Beloved son of Ronald and Julie; cherished brother of Jordan ; and adored grandson of Dorothea Steiff, Sue (Michael) Wiltse, and Lawrence Sieradski (Paula Sporn). Also survived by his great-grandmother, Ruth MacFarland; many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends; and his faithful Golden Retriever, Felix. Preceded in death by his grandfather, Arvid Steiff. Spencer was a bright, passionate, creative soul who brought much love and joy into the world. He was a voracious reader, an imaginative artist, a gifted writer, and a prize-winning Lego designer. Witty beyond his years, he had a particular fondness for puns and word play. He had a huge, affectionate heart that embraced the animal kingdom; he was especially devoted to dogs. His other interests included fencing, running and reading fantasy novels; he was also a promising French horn student. The world has lost a young man with infinite potential. We will never know what his contribution would have been had he lived, but we do know that it would have been fascinating, creative, and unique, just like Spencer himself. The family will receive friends on Monday, April 25, from 2-5 & 6-8pm at the Muehlig Funeral Chapel, 403 S. Fourth Ave. , Ann Arbor . A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, 11:00 at St. Mary Student Parish Church, 331 Thompson St., Ann Arbor . Burial in Forest Hill Cemetery .
