Susan Darnell Smith was born July 21, 1944 and died February 22, 2014 after a long illness. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and friend. She is survived by her husband David of 47 years, her daughters Lauren and Greer, and her brother Frank (Judy) Darnell. She was preceded in death by her parents Elbert and June Darnell, and her brother Richard (Jane) Darnell. Additional survivors include numerous nieces and nephews. A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Mary Student Parish in Ann Arbor on April 4 at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to support the U-M Communication Disorders Center.
