Goetz, Thomas "Tom" George age 85, Saline, MI passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by family on July 9, 2018. Tom was born December 9, 1932 in Ann Arbor, MI to William H. Goetz and Pearl Johnson. He is survived by his wife of 64 years Edna Goetz and his children; Thomas (Audrey) Goetz, Diane Goetz & (Ben), Donna (Ron) Castleberry and Robert Goetz & (Amy), his 13 grandchilden and 11 great-grandchildren. Tom joined the Navy in 1950 and was proud to serve his country. He met Edna while both working at Argus Camera in Ann Arbor and they married on February 26, 1954. He worked at the University of Michigan from 8/8/63 to 1/7/94 and was a true Michigan fan. He was proceeded in death by his brothers William C. Goetz and Richard G. Hughes and granddaughter Tiffanie Marie Goetz. The family will receive friends on Monday, July 16th from 4:00 until 8:00PM and on Tuesday, July 17th from 10:00AM until time of service at 11:00AM at the Muehlig Funeral Chapel, Ann Arbor. My condolences to the Goetz family for your loss. Tom was a very special and honorable man that served his Country well and worked an honest day. It was an honor to send him up in the restored B17 "Aluminum Overcast," and I will never forget the grin on his face when he climbed out of that plane.
