Adrienne was born July 23, 1940 in Eastport, Maryland as the youngest of three daughters of Arthur and Lillian Burns. As a young girl, she worked at the doll factory in Eastport. Adrienne graduated from Annapolis High School in 1958 and then later married George L. Kane Sr. with whom she had two sons, Gordon and Larry and bought a home and settled in Hillsmere Shores. Adrienne spent her career as a Loan Administrator at First Federal, Weyerhauser and finally at Severn Savings bank from where she retired in 2005.
In November 2000 she married her best friend and soul-mate, James Driscoll, gaining two step daughters and numerous grandchildren.
Adrienne and Jim frequented the American Legion, Elks and Moose lodges and the Fleet Reserve Club. She loved spending time with friends playing bar bingo and listening to live music and followed several local bands. You could find Adrienne on the dance floor anytime Proud Mary or Statue of a Fool was playing.
She served on her class reunion committee for many years, planning the annual festivities. She never missed a party!
Her favorite past times were playing Dominoes, hanging out with the Red Hatters, playing Skip-Bo and Uno with her grandchildren, and most recently playing Bingo at the Gardens of Annapolis with her neighbors.
On any given weekend, Adrienne would be watching her Grandson Hunter perform in his most recent production or one of her other grandchildren playing whatever sport they were involved in at the time.
She and her sisters took an annual trip to Dover Downs to celebrate their birthdays and planned a special dinner to celebrate Christmas together every year.
She will live on in the hearts of her two sons, Gordon Arthur (Joanne) and George Laurence “Larry” Kane (Cissy), her two step-daughters, Diane Jones (Gene) and Shelly Dodge (Fred), her 11 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, her sister Ethel (Pat) Weishaar, five nieces, and the countless other people she touched over her 81 years of life. She is proceeded in death by her father, mother, husband and sister, Mary E. Storton (Betty).
Adrienne was the kindest soul and never had a negative thing to say about anyone. She will forever be missed.
Services will be held for visitation at John Taylor Funeral Home on Wednesday, March 9th from 2-4 and 6-8 with the funeral services at 10am on Thursday, March 10th, followed by a burial at Hillcrest Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Adrienne’s name to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
