

Briana Alice Spiker, 68, of Morgantown, WV, passed away on August 9, 2024 at Bay Village Assisted Living in Annapolis, MD. She was born on June 27, 1956 in Clarksburg, WV to Bradford Z. Spiker and Alice L. (Williams) Spiker.
Briana graduated valedictorian from Pennsboro High School and studied at West Virginia University afterward. She graduated cum laude from WVU with a Bachelor of Social Work and Bachelor of Arts in Sociology. She went on to achieve a Master of Social Work from WVU after that. Prior to retirement, she was a dedicated social worker, passionate about making sure that individuals have the opportunities they needed to be successful. The majority of her career was spent at West Virginia University.
Briana was a 4-H IFYE in 1982 and lived in Japan with eleven different families. She loved to continue this by hosting international students in Morgantown each year. She traveled often with her children both domestically and internationally.
Briana is survived by three siblings: Michael I. Spiker of Ripley, WV, Brada E. Stotts of Evans, WV, and Dr. Mark A. Spiker of Pennsboro, WV; and two children: Pete Deremer and his wife Stephanie of Annapolis, MD and Kari Deremer of Wilmington, NC.
Funeral services will be at 2 PM on Sunday, August 25th at the McCullough-Rogers Funeral Home, Pennsboro, WV. Interment will follow at the South Fork Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-8 PM on Saturday, August 24th.
