Claire Malloy Barton

Crofton, Maryland

September 14th, 1955 – March 9th, 2024

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Claire Malloy Barton, a beloved 68-year-old mother, wife, grandmother, sister, and friend. She left this world on March 9th, 2024, surrounded by the love of her family.

She was in Human Resources at the Department of Treasury for 39 years and devoted much of her life to art, painting, and gardening.

Claire was the loving wife to Dennis Barton and loving mother to Danielle Swimm and Lisa (Rives) Edwards. She cherished her role as grandmother to Isla Swimm and soon-to-be Baby Edwards bringing joy and laughter to their lives. She was the youngest of 3 siblings; Geri Malloy and Marie (Jimmy) Anderson.

Known for her kindness, generosity, sense of humor, and joy. Claire touched the hearts of everyone she encountered. Her volunteer work for breast cancer patients brought joy to those who shared in her passions.

In the midst of our grief, we find solace in the beautiful memories we shared with Claire. Her spirit will live on through the laughter, love, and warmth she brought into our lives. As we say our final goodbyes, let us remember her with gratitude for the precious moments and the lasting impact she had on us all.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, March 14th, 2024 from 5 to 8 PM at the John M. Taylor Funeral Home 147 Duke of Gloucester Street, Annapolis, MD 21401.

The funeral will be held at 11 am in the Chapel at Sacred Heart Church 16501 Annapolis Rd, Bowie, MD 20715 on Friday, March 15th, 2024 followed by a burial ceremony.
