Kevin Paul Peterson was born in Brooklyn, New York on July 12, 1957 to Louis and Le Rea Peterson. He entered into eternal Peace March 23, 2020 joining the family of Faithful and Dutiful Servants who sacrificed for God and Country.
Kevin was educated in the New York City Public Schools where he excelled both academically and athletically. In 1970 his parents relocated from Brooklyn to St. Albans Queens where Kevin completed his Middle and High School Education and became a proud member of the 115th Avenue Alley Cats. As a student at Andrew Jackson H.S. Kevin lettered in Varsity Track, Football, and participated in local Cotillions. Upon graduating from Andrew Jackson H.S. in 1975 Kevin enlisted in the U.S. Army and faithfully served in The Military Police Corp at Fort Sil, Oklahoma and Fort Gordon, Georgia. He served overseas in Germany as a Radio Communication Specialist and then returned to the states and served in the Army Reserves at Fort Hamilton, NY until his Honorable Discharge in 1985.
Kevin served at Fort Sil, Oklahoma and Fort Gordon, Georgia as a Military Police Officer and overseas in Germany in Radio Communication. Kevin, blessed with a spirit to Protect and Serve, continued his law enforcement career and joined The Department of Defense Navy Police Force where he served at Carderock Naval Lab, Naval Air Station Patuxent River, and The Naval Academy in Annapolis, MD where he retired in July 2013.
In 2001 Kevin met his Soulmate Donna Harty in Falls Church Virginia and the two later married in 2007 and resided in Annapolis, MD. Kevin’s many interests included sports, to which he was a devout New York Mets and Dallas Cowboy fan, travel, music, reading and above all his love of Donna and family.
Kevin was preceded in death by his Parents (Louis and Le Rea), younger brother Marcy Grant Peterson and son Kevin Jr.; and he leaves to cherish his memory Donna (Wife); Devon Harty, Chris Harty, Andrea Harty, Katrina Morris and Michael Morris (Children); Stewart Ray Jr., Lily Morris, Dionte and Devonte Kirkwood (Grandchildren); Linsey and Tiffany (Nieces), Matthew (Nephew); surviving Cousins in New York: Jackie and Errold Dula, Michelle Harris, Nia Dula, Kadejah Morrison, Janice Williams and Shelly Sheridan; AJ, Mason and Ryder (Great-grand nephews); Alley Cat Brothers; and many Professional Colleagues and friends.
