Donna Sue (Collins) Smith

November 24, 1964 – September 21, 2023
Obituary of Donna Sue (Collins) Smith
IN THE CARE OF

John M. Taylor Funeral Home

Donna Sue Smith (Collins) of Stevensville, MD, passed away on Thursday, September 21, 2023 at George Washington University Hospital in Washington DC at 4:43pm with her husband, daughter, and loved ones by her side. She was 58 years old.

Born on November 24, 1964, in Baltimore, MD, she was the daughter of Jean Althea Triplett (Rodgers) and her husband Preston Lambert Triplett Jr of Baltimore, MD. She graduated from Southern High School in 1982. Donna started working at Nevamar (International Papers,) in the mid 1980’s, where she worked for nearly 10 years. She met her husband, Scott Eugene Smith of Baltimore, MD, whom she married on March 9, 1991. They were married for 32 years. Donna and Scott had one daughter (Katie) in 1993, after which she dedicated the rest of her life to her family.

She enjoyed spending her time at the beach, traveling with her husband, and making memories with her friends and family. Her most recent favorite was driving across the country with her husband. Those who knew Donna best would describe her as a devoted wife, loving mother, and a kind hearted woman that could light up a room. Donna made a lasting impression wherever she went, and will be forever loved, remembered, and missed by everyone who knew her.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband, Scott Smith of Stevensville, a daughter, Katie Smith of Stevensville, her eldest sister, Darlene Mallow of New Freedom, Pennsylvania, a sister, Sandy Cahall of Dover, Delaware, and a brother, William Collins of Dover, Delaware.

The family has chosen to have a small private viewing for immediate family only at John M. Taylor funeral home in Annapolis on Wednesday, September 27, 2023. A celebration of Donna’s life will be held at a later date.
