Ann was born on November 21, 1924, in Hillsboro, IL, the third child of Claude M. and Hettie Klar. After high school, she moved with her mother to Fort Lauderdale, FL. It was there that she met and married her husband, Yacht Captain William “Bill” Hinsch. They lived in Coral Gables, FL for 40 years, where they raised their son, Jason.
In 1991, Ann and Bill moved to Micco, FL. In 1996, Ann moved to Sebastian, FL where she spent many happy years before moving to Maryland to be closer to her son and his family. Living through the Depression, and then seeing high school classmates go to war (and often not return), likely led to her practical, common sense approach to life.
Ann had an innate ability to connect with everyone she met, of all ages and walks of life, and to make them feel understood. She also enjoyed having fun times with friends and family. Sadly, Ann’s later years were taken over by Alzheimer’s Disease, though even as the disease progressed, she touched everyone around her, including the wonderful caregivers at Brightview of Annapolis. For those close to her, she will live on deep in their hearts, and serve as a guide for how to approach life with unwavering integrity mixed with an appreciation for laughter and fun.
Ann was preceded in death by her husband, parents, her brother Joe, and her sister, Lois Fowler. She is survived by her devoted son, Jason, his wife, Aileen, and her grandchildren, Wyatt and Charlie. She also has a nephew, Don Fowler, of Weaverville, North Carolina.
