Obituary: Elizabeth Louise Sixbey On Sunday, November 15, 2015, Elizabeth Louise Sixbey passed into eternal peace with her four beloved children holding her hand. Though her body was frail and tired, her spirit was full of strength and grateful appreciation for the opportunity to give a final kiss to each of her ten grandchildren the day before her final journey. Betsy, a long-time resident of Sherwood Forest in Annapolis, MD, died at Gilchrest Hospice Center from cancer. Born on February 6, 1932, in Greensburg, PA, Betsy received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Criminology from the University of Maryland. She was an avid reader, a skilled Chinese brush painter, and a talented cook. She was preceded in death by her cherished husband Dan, her mother Louise and her father Bob. She is survived by her four children: Jill, and her husband Dennis; Joanie and her husband Ernie; Janet and her husband John; and Tommy and his wife Alice. She also leaves behind her ten grandchildren: Lizzie, Craig, Ryan, Gene, Mike, Elena, Brad, Christopher, Holland and Noelle, and her great-grandchild Gia. In addition, she is survived by her sister Linda and her brother Bob. Elizabeth, called "Mommy" by her kids, "Grammy" by her grandkids and "Betsy" by her close friends, was the center of love and life in her family. Up until the end, her brilliant mind and contagious sense of humor remained with her --- her memories shared, gentle jokes made and her love abounding. In lieu of flowers, Betsy requested that donations be made payable to the Sherwood Forest Club (memo: Playground Fund), 134 Sherwood Forest Rd., Sherwood Forest, MD 21405. To honor her wishes, a private family service will be held.
