Eugene Paul Stastny, Jr. of Severna Park Maryland, aged 95 years, passed away peacefully at home among family on April 10, 2021. Born in Baltimore Maryland on March 31, 1926, son of Eugene Paul Sr. and Jerina Lillian (Tauser) Stastny. After graduating from Baltimore Polytechnic, he served in the Army during World War II, seeing action in both theaters. After the war, Eugene earned a degree in mechanical engineering from Drexel Institute of Technology. After college, he was employed by Koppers Company (later Environmental Elements Inc.) until his retirement. He was a member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers and member and past president of the Industrial Gas Cleaning Institute. He was a member of the Severna Park Kiwanis Club for over 25 years. He was an avid sailor and enjoyed golf, bowling and playing pinochle. He traveled extensively both professionally and for pleasure, including a cross-country trip with his motorcycle and kayak to celebrate his 80th birthday.
Married to Carol Janet (Teubner) Stastny (1929-1998), he is survived by his three daughters: Sharon S. West (husband Harold E.) of Severna Park Maryland, Pamela Ann Stastny Hale (husband Joseph Norman) of Palm Bay Florida, and Sandra S. Locascio of Columbia South Carolina. He is also survived by brother Theodore G. Stastny of Baltimore Maryland, seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
A memorial visitation will be held Wednesday April 21st from 5:00-8:00 pm at the John M. Taylor Funeral Home, 147 Duke of Gloucester St., Annapolis MD 21401.
