Evelyn Welling, 95, passed away on February 11, 2018 with her loving daughters Diane Cipollone and Karen Welling at her bedside. She lived a life that was dedicated to her family. For both her 90th and 95th birthday parties, friends and relatives from all over the country came to Maine to celebrate her life and her indomitable spirit. Despite the pain she endured at the losses of her son, Jim, at age 48 and granddaughter, Kate, at age 21 and becoming a widow in 1999, she soldiered on and was an inspiration to all who knew her. In addition to her two daughters, she is survived by her son Tom, grandchildren Kurt, Thomas, Matt, Lynn, David, Jessica and Kathrine, and greatgrandchildren Reese, Chase, Saegan, Ellison, Caroline, Whitney, and Freya. She will be missed and mourned, but never forgotten. A Facebook tribute from her granddaughter summed it up: “The world just got a little less funny... 95 years under her belt, the sharpest wit, the quickest sarcasm, no filter whatsoever and that thick Brooklyn accent all packed into the tiniest, sweetest, most hilarious little lady I've ever known.” Mass of Christian Burial at St. John Neumann Mission Church, 620 N. Bestgate Road, Annapolis, MD on Friday, February 23rd at 9AM. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to The Iris Network, c/o Development, 189 Park Ave., Portland, ME 04102. The Iris Network provided services to enable her to continue to live independently despite her extremely impaired vision.
