

Fred Page Glennie, 94, of Annapolis, MD passed peacefully at home of natural causes on January 7, 2022. He was born in Detroit, MI to William Sinclair and Ella Beider Page, along with his twin brother William on February 26, 1927. He married Patricia “Pattee“ Woodworth in Bethesda, MD on September 18, 1954. Fred is survived by his son Woodworth Page Glennie and wife Lisa, daughter Laura Glennie, grandchildren: Sara Carroll, Melissa Holt and husband Chris, and David Glennie and wife Kari, and great grandchildren: Olivia Glennie, Ella Glennie, Kaleb Carroll, and Carolyn Peralta.
Fred served in World War II in the Pacific. He then returned and completed a bachelor’s degree in Business at Western Michigan University. Amongst his many employments, he was most proud of working for Ford Motor Company, Shell Oil, The Washington Post, and in 1992 retired from the Capital Gazette Newspapers, Inc as Chief Financial Officer.
He was a lover of westerns (John Wayne) and peanuts (but not peanut butter). He was involved in many community organizations to include, Kiwanias, Annapolis Lions Club, Loyal Order of Moose Annapolis, MD Lodge 296, Elks Annapolis, MD Lodge #622, and Ducks Unlimited. He enjoyed golf, hunting, tennis, and meeting up with friends at Burger King and Dunkin’ Donuts for coffee.
There will be a private family service at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Chesapeake Bay Foundation.
