He is survived by five children. Sheila Ward (Phil), Linda Faber, Bill Dougherty (Carmen) , Laurie Giroux, and Sandi Frailey. Several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
His brother Tom Dougherty (Ann) of Rochester, NY.
George owned a Super Duper grocery store in Rochester, NY and was very civic minded. He was very active in the Lions Club in Rochester.
He also belonged to American Legion Post 159, VFW Post 8118, and Moose Lodge 1308, all of Venice FL. To which donations may be made in his name.
Memorial service will be private.
