Born, raised and living in Annapolis all of her 101 years of age, Hazel lived in Lindamoor-on-Severn before moving to her daughter’s home in Hillsmere Shores 8 years ago.
Before retiring, Hazel worked for the Annapolis City Water Department from 1955-1979. She was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church.
Preceded in death by her husband of 71 years Phillip Peter DiMaggio, her beloved mother and father Alvin Eugene and Eveline Oaksmith and brothers, Alvin Eugene “Billy” Oaksmith Jr., William Gibbs Oaksmith and Sidney Munford Oaksmith and grandsons Robin Callie and Steven Bateman. Hazel is survived by her children Phyllis Callie (Bob) of Houston, Texas, Beverly Bateman (John) of Cambridge, MD, Phillip DiMaggio (Kathy) of St. Leonards, MD and Arlene Robertson (Ralph) of Annapolis, 8 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, 19 great, great, grandchildren and 2 great, great, great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 24, 2019 from 2 to 4 pm and 6 to 8 pm at John M. Taylor Funeral Home, 147 Duke of Gloucester Street, Annapolis, MD 21401. A Funeral service will be held on Friday, January 25, 2019 at 11:00 am in the Funeral Home’s Chapel. Interment at Lakemont Memorial Gardens in Davidsonville.
