Hugh McConnell

Born on September 12, 1935, in New Jersey to Mary and Thomas McConnell, Hugh lived a life marked by dedication, integrity, and community spirit.

A proud graduate of Rutgers University, Hugh built a distinguished career as Director of Marketing for the Telephone Company, where his leadership and vision left a lasting impact. Beyond his professional accomplishments, Hugh was involved in civic life, contributing his time and energy to organizations such as the Rotary Club, the Knights of Columbus and the Lions Club.

Hugh’s greatest joy came from his family, to whom he was endlessly devoted. His warmth, wisdom, and quiet strength were the foundation of countless cherished memories. He will be remembered for his unwavering kindness, his dedication to family, colleagues, friends and neighbors, and the way he made everyone feel heard and valued.

He is survived by his loving wife, Frances, his sons Thomas (Jane) and Michael, and grandchildren Ryan, Tristan (Jessica) and Camryn McConnell.

He leaves behind a legacy of love, service, and excellence that will continue to inspire all who knew him.

A memorial mass for Hugh will be held Saturday, September 13, 2025 at 10:30 AM in Saint John Neumann Catholic Church, 620 N Bestgate Rd, Annapolis, MD 21401.
