

Jacqueline “Jackie” Ann Hahn, age 72, passed away on Tuesday, July 29, 2025. She was born in Maryland on October 28, 1952, as the youngest daughter of a Naval officer. Shortly after her birth, he was stationed in Brazil, where the family resided during his tour. Her father’s final duty station was as officer-in-charge of the Naval Communications Station in Annapolis, after which the family settled into their beloved home on Silopanna Road.
Jackie graduated from Annapolis High School in 1971 and received her associate degree from Anne Arundel Community College where she was immersed in the theater program and made many lifelong friends. After attending UMBC, she worked at Chesapeake Cutters, where she completed a stretch at the company’s European facility in Larne, Northern Ireland. In 1983, she accepted a position as the Ice Rink Manager at the United States Naval Academy, which she held for most of her career at the Academy. After retiring in 2003, Jackie and her husband moved to Bethany Beach, DE where she resided until her passing.
Jackie loved spending time with her family and friends, people watching on the beach with her beloved dog Jenny, and traveling to the Most Magical Place on Earth, Walt Disney World. She will be remembered for her deep love for her family, along with her kindness, compassion, and generosity.
Jackie was preceded in death by her parents Ret. Lt. Comdr. Charles Richard Jessup and Mildred Jessup, as well as her three older sisters Charlene Huebl, Billie Jessup Raymond, and Barbara Wist. She is survived by her loving husband of 31 years, James Hahn, along with step-sons Jason (Diana) Hahn of Annapolis, MD and Ryan (Raka) Hahn of Seattle, WA; her nieces Kimberly (Todd) Powell of Huntingtown, MD, Stacey Landrie of Ocean View, DE, Jolie (Bryan) Porter of West River, MD, Jacqueline Cunningham and her partner Ajay Barry of Chestertown, MD, Toby Rodevick of Crofton, MD, and Jessie Wist of Odenton, MD; her nephew Jamie (Brea) Wist of Bowie, MD; and many great-nieces and great-nephews, all of whom she loved and supported as her own children and grandchildren, as well as an abundance of dear friends.
The family will greet visitors from 3:00-5:00 pm on Thursday, August 14 at John M. Taylor Funeral Home at 147 Duke of Gloucester St., Annapolis, MD. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, August 15 at Heritage Baptist Church, 1740 Forest Drive in Annapolis, with a pre-service visitation at 10:00am. Following the funeral service, interment will take place at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Delaware Humane Society in Jackie’s name to honor her love of and dedication to helping animals in need.
