

James (Jimmy) L. Faudree, 86, of St. Petersburg, Florida, and formerly of Edgewater, Maryland, passed away September 16, 2014. He was born in Goochland County, Virginia on September 10, 1928 to James and Lula (Sutphin) Faudree. The family moved to Annapolis when Jimmy was about ten years old. He worked for Durkee Enterprises at the Annapolis area movie theaters and as a mechanic for Baldwin Service Center for over 30 years. Jimmy enjoyed playing on several horseshoe leagues in Florida and Maryland. He was an active member of the Broadneck Elks, American Legion and the Moose Lodge in Annapolis. Long before fathers were active in daughters’ activities, he played a major role in the Campfire Girls with his daughter, Kat, becoming an honorary Campfire Girl. His greatest pleasure was riding his motorcycle. He participated in many charity rides and took an annual week long ride with his brother, Russell Faudree. He married June Frano on April 28, 1948 who died April 4, 2010. He was also preceded in death by two sons, Cecil Frank Faudree and Dale Faudree, and a grandson. He is survived by five children, June Kostkowski, James W. Faudree, Kathryn Faudree and Roy Faudree all of Edgewater, and Christopher Faudree, of Pompton Lakes, NJ. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren and six great grandchildren. A viewing will be held Sunday, September 21, from 3:00pm to 6:00pm at the John M. Taylor Funeral Home, 147 Duke of Gloucester Street, Annapolis, MD 21401 where a funeral service will be held Monday, September 22 at 11:00am.
