On May 6, 2020, John C. Campbell III of Annapolis died at the age of 72. John was the son of Rosalyn, nee Twigg, and John C. Campbell Jr.. He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Mary, and his son, Reza Ali Morakkabi, as well as his grandchildren, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Throughout his life, John put his all into every endeavor. Sometimes it was for work: sailing races on the Chesapeake, making ship-door tables, lobbying for a Japanese company, or being a prime contractor for the Defense Department. Sometimes it was for pure pleasure such as baking his grandmother’s bread, cooking, making apple cider, woodworking or playing snooker.
After a long series of illnesses, he died peacefully at home. Once this corona-virus crisis abates, a service will be scheduled at Myosenji Buddhist Temple in Silver Spring. In lieu of flowers, a donation can be sent to Hospice of the Chesapeake or the Chesapeake Bay Foundation.
