For John, Carol, Ginny, Hazel, Laurie, and Chuck,,
Don and I and our daughters and families will be with you in spirit as you celebrate Johnny’s life on Tuesday. It is heartbreaking that his life was cut short.  His life in Portland was happy, satisfying, and fulfilling by all accounts, 
His memory will be cherished, 
And he will be missed forever.

As the first born you experienced the arrival of siblings
You lived in multiple homes by the time you reached your teens
Eastport, Montrose, and Randolph Hills
Which home was the best, where were you most free to spread your wings?
We both agreed it was 361 Congressional Lane at Montrose
The early and elaborate Sunday dinners, the o dark thirty trips to OC for the day, The rec center that never closed, endless days at the pool, basketball, tennis, carroms, tetherball, softball, Flag Football, and of course the wooded trail we trekked on Sundays to St. Elizabeth’s, speckled with golf balls from the fairways at Woodmont country club that ran along side the creek
In the winter months we wore out the giant hill with our sleds mere feet from our home, and ice skated on abandoned frozen ponds along the sprawling beach drive
Not far away was the Pike Theatre where we could watch movies for free upon staying in our seats as the matinee ended and subsequent showings began 
Wheaton regional park, Cabin John, and Montgomery Mall we frequented often, at this moment surely and clearly I am certain our childhood footprint remains forever forged at Montrose Park, happily and solemnly
We had similar attributes, athleticism, competitiveness, and an insatiable drive which paved the way for self-actualization
I loved going to the Washington capitals games and the Washington bullets games at the Capitol Center- all that mattered was my brother was beside me
Rest in peace with Michael by your side. You loved and were loved
The tide is out, the waters are calm, and your spirit is free
