Jon Jay Martin, 59, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 21 at home. Jon was born July 26, 1957 in Goldsboro, N.C. the beloved son of Ruth Ann and Frank Martin, Jr. He was baptized, confirmed and an acolyte in the Lutheran Church. Growing up he played the trumpet and was an active member of the Boy Scouts. He earned the highest honor of the Boy Scouts of America, one of the most recognized steps of leadership – the rank of Eagle Scout. That experience became a part of his character. He was known for his very diligent and hardworking nature, determined to “get the job done”. Jon was keenly interested in homebuilding and served as construction superintendent for several premier homebuilders. He was very talented in the construction industry having honed many trades skills necessary in the construction industry. Jon was an avid outdoorsman and loved restoring cars. He enjoyed animals, raising chickens, vegetable gardening, power boating, sailing and building projects at home. He will be sorely missed and remembered with much love. Blessed be his memory. A graveside service will be held at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens 1911 Forest Drive Annapolis, Maryland 21401 on Thursday May 25, 2017 at 1 PM.
