

Born on May 7, 1944, in Montgomery, Alabama, Lucy was the daughter of the late Thomas Graham Gibson and Mary Frances Gibson (nee Andrews). She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Richard Baldwin Fielding; her sister, Phyllis Gibson “Tish” Tucker; and her parents.
Lucy is lovingly remembered by her children, Corrie Fielding Tarbert (Billy) of Parkton, MD, Holly Moores of Millersville, MD, and T. Scott Fielding of Millersville, MD; and by her cherished grandchildren, Alexis Fielding, Trevor Fielding, and William Tarbert III.
She is also survived by her brother, William Graham Gibson (Susan) of Knoxville, TN; her nieces, Louise Tucker Anderson, Mary Scott Tucker McGowan, Adelia Tucker Harkess, and Caroline Gibson; her nephew, Trippe Gibson; and great-nephews Anthony McGowan and Edwin McGowan.
Lucy devoted her life to her family, staying home to raise her three children with love and care. She gave generously of her time as a volunteer at Millersville Elementary School, where she worked as a kindergarten teacher’s aide.
Creative and talented, Lucy had a passion for all things craft-related. She enjoyed both making crafts and attending craft shows. Her love of floral design led her to pursue certification as a floral designer through community college—a pursuit she completed with pride.
Lucy also had a special gift for cooking and entertaining. She loved gathering friends and family around the table, filling her home with warmth, laughter, and delicious meals.
A woman of deep faith, Lucy was long active in the life of Baldwin Memorial United Methodist Church and Oaklands Presbyterian Church. She found great joy in singing in the church choir and contributing to her church communities in many ways.
Lucy will be remembered for her warmth, creativity, generous spirit, and unwavering dedication to her family and faith.
A memorial visitation for Lucy will be held Friday, September 12, 2025 from 1 to 3 pm at John M. Taylor Funeral Home, 147 Duke of Gloucester Street, Annapolis, Maryland 21401. A memorial service will begin at 3 pm in the Funeral Home Chapel.
