Madeline "Madge" Cadell passed away at the age of 82 on Friday, May 18, 2018, at Brightview in Severna Park, Md. Born on April 21,1936, in Washington, D.C., to Gordon and Virginia Miller, Madge lived in Annapolis, Md., and was a proud graduate of Annapolis High School’s Class of 1954. It was there she met her husband, Charles "Buck" Cadell, with whom she shared 49 years of marriage before he preceded her in death in 2004.
Madge was very proud to have worked for Trumpy Yachts during the 1950s. She retired from the Anne Arundel County Board of Education after 25 years of service. Always the life of the party, she enjoyed dancing, playing games and spending time with family and friends. Madge also loved the Naval Academy and Navy sports, so it is fitting that the celebration of her life falls on the same days as the Blue Angels fly in Annapolis for Commissioning Week.
She is survived by her daughter, Valerie Gardner and her husband, Ed, as well as two granddaughters, whom Madge adored: Meaghan Neary (Greg) and Rebecca Showalter (Nathan). She is also survived by her brother, Gordon "Bud" Miller. Madge’s spirit and warm personality will be sorely missed.
Funeral services are at the John M. Taylor Funeral Home with visitation on Tuesday, May 22, 2018, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. The funeral service is on Wednesday, May 23, 2018, at 11:00 a.m., followed by interment at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.
