Martha Anna Deterding was born on July 4, 1931, the only child of Ernst Paul Christiansen & Magdelene Sheelhaas, who immigrated from Germany in 1925. She married James Martin Deterding in 1951 and celebrated their 60 wedding anniversary shortly before he died in 2011. Martha was preceded in death by her son Timothy Deterding in 2010. She is survived by a son Christopher Deterding (Patti) of Annapolis and a daughter Emilie Deterding (Steve Sine) of McGaheysville, VA, three grandchildren, Amy Noll (Scott), Stephen (Heather) & James (Laura), and ten great-grandchildren.
